History

LoLux was formed in 2022 by Alex Coe and Luke DeSiervo. The two first met in Astoria Park, just outside the Neighborhood Pool, where Alex was busking and Luke stepped in, offering his bass playing to help get things moving.

As the band began to take shape, Alex met Fahri Evren Kaya at an open jam at The Local Bar off Steinway Street, in the summer of 2022. Evren soon joined, helping shape the band’s sound.

In 2025, Brian Fernandez joined the group, bringing a new level of energy and precision to the rhythm section and completing the current lineup.

Today, all four members write and shape the music together where the band continues to develop its sound in a close, collaborative setting.

Alex Coe

Alex is driving force behind the band, acting not only as Performer, but also as a Lyricist, Manager, Graphic Designer, Booker and Social Media curator. He grew up in Minnesota Listening to Cloud Cult, Backstreet Boys and Chris Cornell. He went to State school for theatre and developed his voice busking in the Subways of NYC. Previous Bands include Parnhash and Coe(2014-2020), The Cocoons(2021). Alex also has a solo career working with artists such as Brent Butler, Rose Hart, Paco the G Train Bandit, Chris Carr and Mandella Eskia along with many other Brooklyn Wildlife artists.

Evren Kaya

Lead Guitar

Evren’s music journey started with a recorder in elementary school. With the help of his cultural background, he learned the Turkish instrument called baglama, which opened the door to stringed instruments. He is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist influenced by bands like Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple. He started playing guitar in numerous bands since high school in Istanbul and later in NYC. Since 2022, he has been one of the main collaborators in composing and plays the lead guitar at Lolux.

Luke DeSiervo

Bass Guitar

Luke got his first guitar in the 6th grade. He put a bunch of stickers on it, started a band, and has been playing ever since. Cutting his teeth as a lead guitar player and songwriter in the Sheens (2013-present), Luke keeps his ear close to the indie pavement in NYC and is always searching for the next band, the next venue, and the next exciting sound. As a founding member and bassist of Lolux, he is a pillar of the band’s live performance and songwriting, keeping song structure, experimentation, collaboration, and emotion at the center of the group’s creative process.

Brian Fernandez

Drums

From beginning his story in Long Island, Brian came to NYC to evolve his music vocabulary and prowess over the years through constant practice, projects, and performances. Coming from a Drumline, Concert, and Orchestral background, he combines influences such as Hail The Sun, Circa Survive, Tesseract, Tool, and many others to innovate and create a new sound. He has since joined Lolux in mid 2025, and by bringing new ideas and themes to the table, has been an integral heartbeat to the band ever since.
